What is Askpaca?

Askpaca is an AI chat assistant you add to your website. It answers visitors' questions using only your own web pages and documents, and every answer includes numbered citations that link to its sources.

How do I get started?

Sign up at app.askpaca.com. Create an assistant (a "tenant"), enter your website address and the domains it may run on, then click "Crawl now". When indexing finishes, copy the embed snippet into your site.

How do I add Askpaca to my website?

Paste one script tag before the closing body tag. The tag loads the widget from Askpaca and includes your assistant's public site key. For example: <script src="https://askpaca.com/widget/askpaca.js" data-site-key="YOUR_SITE_KEY" data-title="Ask us" defer></script>. It works on any platform that lets you add custom HTML.

What content can Askpaca learn from?

Two sources: your website, crawled from its sitemap, and documents you upload (Markdown, plain text or HTML). You can limit crawling with include and exclude path patterns, and with content selectors that keep only the main part of each page.

How often is my content updated?

You can re-crawl at any time from the dashboard with "Crawl now". New uploads are indexed within a few minutes.

Does Askpaca make things up?

Askpaca is built to stay grounded. It answers only from retrieved passages of your content and cites them. If your content doesn't cover a question, it says "I don't know" in a friendly way and points to a help or contact page, rather than guessing.

Can Askpaca give medical, legal or financial advice?

No. Askpaca repeats what your content says. For health-related shopping questions, it lists relevant items from your pages and adds a short reminder to check with a professional.

What personas are available?

Four presets: Playful Askpaca (the default, cheerful with light alpaca puns), Warm Professional, Friendly Casual and Concise Expert. You can customize the assistant's name, tone, welcome message and suggested starter questions. Puns are never used in answers about serious topics.

Can I use Askpaca on more than one website?

Yes. Create one assistant per website. Each one has its own content, persona, site key and allowed domains.

Is my data kept separate from other customers?

Yes. Each assistant has its own search index, and its site key only works on the domains you allow. Each account can see and manage only its own assistants.

How fast are answers?

Askpaca runs on Cloudflare's global network. Most answers arrive in about two to three seconds.

Which languages does Askpaca support?

Askpaca is tuned for English today.
